Community Partnership Projects

The department staff provides leadership and technical assistance to at least a dozen community projects in order to promote collaboration and develop new programs and services to meet the changing needs of residents.

The projects change according to the needs of the community and at the start of FY2017 include:

  • Falmouth Multi-disciplinary Hoarding Task Force – consultation and case management services regarding community cases; facilitates “Buried in Treasures” support group
  • Mass. Municipal Association Local Officials Human Services Council – statewide network regarding emerging human service trends, legislative issues, and best practices
  • Barnstable County Human Services Advisory Council – cape-wide human services needs assessment, networking and collaboration to address identified needs
  • Cape Cod Healthcare Community Benefits Committee – health related needs assessment, prioritization and funding for local projects
  • Coalition for Children – ensures availability of an array of services for pre-school children and their families
  • Suicide Prevention Coalition of Cape Cod – increases awareness of signs if suicide and enhances prevention skills in the community
  • Barnstable County Regional Substance Abuse Prevention Council – represent the Town of Falmouth in this county-wide collaboration to reduce opiate abuse and prevent overdoses
  • Regional Opiate Abuse Prevention Initiative – to advocate for the utilization of evidence based community wide strategies to address the opiate epidemic
  • Barnstable County Sheriff’s Reentry Task Force – enhance connections for inmates returning to the community to reduce recidivism and improve long term outcomes
